Flooring Specialist

Job Summary

The Flooring Specialist is a key part of the installation team and responsible with preparation for installation and working with the finishers along the process.

  • 1 Year preferred experience with epoxy, urethane, and other polymer flooring installation knowledge
  • 1 year experience with concrete polishing and/or industrial painting 
  • Lifting and moving bags of raw material
  • Mixing and preparing Polymer for installation
  • Experience using required equipment, such as, trowel, chipping hammer, skill saw, planetary grinder, blaster, scarifier and shaver
  • Able to hang cove strip
  • Familiarity with common products used, mix ratios and material coverage rates
  • Ensures strict compliance with all health and safety rules and regulations
  • Inputs timely hours along with proper use/care/maintenance of equipment and materials
  • Strives to meet and exceed any and all production targets.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Be the manpower for highly technical seamless flooring installation
  • Load necessary equipment and supplies at the shop prior to the project
  • Perms daily safety check of all equipment and cords
  • Keep equipment clean during and at the end of the job
  • Assist Finishers in their tasks
  • Ask for help when needed and notify site management when they see a problem

Requirements, Qualifications, & Skills

  • High school graduate required
  • Must live no more than one hour from a major airport
  • Willing to regularly travel and stay out of town for various durations of time. All travel costs are paid by HTI and a food per diem is provided
  • Able to work evenings, overnights, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays, as needed
  • Can operate and understand how and when to use chipping hammers
  • Has knowledge of generators and the safety involved with them
  • Can operate skills saws and properly cut joints and chases
  • Understands how and why to use a planetary grinder as well as choosing the proper tooling
  • Can operate a blaster, scarifier and shaver
  • Can hang a cove strip
  • Familiar with all common products used and mix ratios of our products
  • Familiar with coverage rates of our materials
  • Able to perform the following daily physical activities – work on your hands and knees, navigate any obstacles, climb ladders, stand for up to 8 hours per shift and lift up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Possess a valid driver’s license along with reliable transportation
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a criminal background check
  • Authorized to work in the United States. HTI uses E-Verify

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Able to trowel 40 feet of 6" curb in 1 hour.
  • Communicates well with others and has a positive attitude.
  • Adheres to HTI Polymer mission statement.
  • Follows HTI’s safety rules and policies.
  • Routinely checks all equipment and cords for safety.
  • Effectively trains and mentors all laborers on the job site.
  • Clean appearance and shows up ready to work.
  • Understands how and why to install key chases and drain details.
  • Knowledge of generators and the safety involved with them.
  • Can field repair basic problems on planetary grinders, scarifiers and blasters.
  • Can operate a blaster, scarifier and shaver.
  • Can perform small projects unsupervised.
  • Attention to detail on taping, cut in, drains, walls, doorways and keeping product off equipment.
  • Can read prints for proper floor and cove detail and layout.
  • Understands cure times and recoat windows of the different products and knows where to reference them.
  • Can properly operate a power trowel.
  • Can install epoxy, urethane cement, polyaspartic and urethane sealers.
  • Can calculate the proper amount of material needed to grout a floor and can slope floors.
  • Asks for help when needed and raises their hand when they see a problem.
  • Can install a cove with a radius that is straight with no waves.
  • Installs clean drain detail.
  • Can install floors using rollers, squeegees, trowels and understands why.
  • Knows the coverage rates and application SOP of the product being used.
  • Takes direction well from any and all superiors.
  • Shows up with proper PPE and personal tools.
  • Utilizes their time well and stays on task.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

The successful candidate will have experience running projects including scheduling, daily
project documentation, site safety, and communication with inspecting authorities and clients.
Daily management of all site logistics, project budget, safety and quality control.

  • Install quality floors for our customers while professionally developing the finishers and laborers on your crew
  • Pre-plan projects two or more weeks ahead by looking at collaboration calendars.
  • Determine equipment needs for project
  • Understand the budget provided by the Project Manager for a project and approve it.
  • Read Standard Operating Procedure for product installation and communicate with the Manager of Field Development on any questions and resolve if necessary.
  • Conduct a daily pre-task and safety meeting.
  • Conduct a pre-task meeting with the crew to ensure they are educated on the job specifics, preparation methods, installation methods, products installed and coverage rates.
  • Plan and discuss daily milestones and project milestones.
Project Manager

Skills Needed:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, telephone and email management skills.
  • Prepared to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Salesforce.
  • Understanding of architectural plans.
  • Be comfortable and efficient in working with and manipulating large spreadsheets.

  • Construction management experience is not required, but is a plus.

Warehouse Assistant

Job Summary

You are the sole point person at this location. It is critical to our business that you are prepared to receive deliveries and can stage material for pickups while understanding the timelines associated with preparation and execution. This position supports supply chain through onsite management of the warehouse including, but not limited to, inventory, pickups, deliveries, material staging, equipment storage, and general housekeeping.

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
    • Work shifts to be arranged with department manager, HTI’s standard hours of operation are from 7:00 am – 4:00 pm and we are looking for the right candidate that can support a flexible work schedule within those guidelines. Occasional flexibility may be required
    • Dependability is critical, delivery and pick-ups are contingent upon your availability
  • Manage local pickups and deliveries as needed
  • Pick and pack orders including pallet setup, wrapping, labelling, and staging from existing inventory
  • Receive, sort, and log all materials returning to the warehouse including proper job and project manager labeling and store in designated appropriate areas
    • Document incoming inventory returns and forward to warehouse manager for tracking and accounting
    • Maintain material inventory including twice monthly physical counts of material returns 
    • Ensure compliance with SOPs
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse through sorting and placement of materials and equipment within space, shelving, racks, and bins
    • Identify and document aging or obsolete materials
  • Document vehicles, trucks, trailers, equipment, and machinery entering or leaving warehouse for repairs
    • Schedule repairs as needed after discussing with Director of Supply Chain and Asset Management
    • Assist in ensuring vehicles are maintained for DOT certification 
    • Maintenance of company owned equipment onsite, or assistance in coordination with local repair facilities 
    • Maintain servicing and licensure requirements for all equipment (i.e., OSHA, Forklift, etc.)
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of company vehicles as needed
    • Assist in management of vehicle consumable inventory, ensure proper levels of inventory are maintained to support the field (i.e., report vehicle problem to manger, keep inventory of available consumable products)
  • Other duties as assigned
